Morocco - Technical assistance to the Office for Vocational Training and Labour promotion

In 2004 – 2005 Cecoforma provided technical assistance to the Office for Vocational Training and Labour promotion (OFPPT) for the development of apprentice vocational training, in partnership with IFPME Liege and Techniprojet Morocco. European Commission – 720,000 EUR

The aim of the project was

1) To enhance the provision of apprenticeship training programmes: drafting of 16 training frames of reference using a skills-based approach:

Building trade : plumbing and heating installer ; painter/glazier ; steel joinery worker
Electrical trade : maintenance electrician; electrical appliance repair ; automobile components ; electrical fitter ; vehicle electrician
Mechanics trade : sewing machine repair ; multipurpose mechanic ; practising marine fishing mechanic
Agriculture trade :agri-equipment maintenance worker; irrigation worker ; pumping station worker ; irrigation network maintenance worker ; rural electrification worker

2) To ensure better supervision of trainees: training of 112 teacher trainers specialised in apprenticeship training

3) To train the apprenticeship instructors: training and monitoring of 50 ‘mentor trainers’ to implement training initiatives reaching 1000 Apprenticeship Instructors
