Belgium-Morocco - Organization of a study tour in Belgium for 15 Moroccan engineers on the topic “Appropriation of the notion and the utility of the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) in the modern management of a park  of building site vehicles”

Background

Within the framework of the bilateral agreements established between Morocco and Belgium, several cooperative projects were launched. Among those, two of them consisted mainly on the supply of material of civil engineering intended for the arid area of the Moroccan South Area, called Souss Massa Draa. One of the projects, in collaboration with the Ministry of Roads, has as objective the creation of roads allowing the opening-up of very isolated villages ; the other in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy, Mines, Water and Environment, is to allow the construction of dams in this same area. The budget allocated for the supply of this equipment is about 6 million euros. Conscious of the importance of the good maintenance of this material for the durability of the two projects, the two Ministries, in agreement with the technical and financial dossier of the projects concerned, will reinforce their maintenance management of the civil engineering equipment, in particular by the acquisition of management software of CMMS - Computerized Maintenance Management System.

Mission objectives

The study trip aims to motivate, inform and give a general training on the CMMS (directed towards the management of the maintenance of vehicles fleet  and preferably of public works material (bulldozers, back-digging shovels, trucks, etc) to  the higher technical experts and to engineers concerned of these two Ministries.
